Philip Tavill:

At Children First, we believe in the potential of every child that we serve, that whatever it is that she or he may choose to be, it’s achievable. What people see when they come here are these really spectacular classrooms, really well-trained teachers, and we use valid and reliable research-based curriculums, and we have lots of really good resources. But if you distill it down, what we’re looking at is helping kids be successful in their transition to kindergarten so that the future for their education is solid.

Deema:

If I had to choose one word to describe Children First, it would be resourceful because it helps out families and helps out the children. And they do not only provide the daycare or the learning, but they also provide help to the families, to the parents, and they give many resources which help families out.

Philip Tavill:

So really, here’s the deal with families. We’re helping them move to become more independent, to become more self-sufficient. We help them set plans for achievement. We maybe are helping them move to a safer neighborhood by getting a little bit better of a job. We’re really finding out what their dreams are and figuring out how do we help them achieve their dreams. Might have a mom with a high school degree who says, “I’d really like to be a nurse,” and that can change her whole world. So we say, “Here are the steps that we have to take, and we’re here to help you be successful”.

Elizabeth:

I feel like so grateful with Children’s First for what they had done for my family, that it’s like, I think that it doesn’t matter how much I do to give back, it will never be enough to… That’s how grateful I am.

Breanna:

I am Breanna, and when I was a little girl, I wanted to be a variety of things ranging from a teacher, an actress, an astronaut, a princess, cliche careers I guess you would say that a toddler would want or a young girl. And I just thought this way because I actually thought that I could be everything when I was older. And this kind of mindset was derived from my teachers at Children First, and everyone who I grew up around that cultivated me into thinking that I could do or be whatever I wanted. There’s a Chinese proverb that says, “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. And the second best time is now.” Almost 20 years ago, Children First planted the seed that allowed me to achieve my dreams. Won’t you do the same for the children of our next generation? Please give today.
