Herald-Tribune: Children First Named Sarasota Chamber Nonprofit of the Year Finalist

July 13, 2020 | Sarasota

The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce has named the finalists for the 2020 Frank G. Berlin Sr. Small Business Awards.

Three finalists have been selected in each of the seven new categories that will be awarded at a luncheon on Aug. 28 at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota. The Herald-Tribune is the presenting sponsor.

The chamber introduced new award categories this year that it says will allow more companies and organizations to qualify for recognition.

The awards are named in honor of the late Frank G. Berlin Sr., whose legacy in the community and support of the chamber epitomized the hopes and dreams of contemporary business entrepreneurs, the chamber said.

The Non-Profits of the Year Award, sponsored by the Hyatt Regency, recognizes an active not-for-profit organization registered in Florida for at least three years that has demonstrated innovations programs and contributions to the community.

Finalists are Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast, SunCoast Blood Bank and Children First.

The awards were originally set for a June 19 presentation but were delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.
