Below is a list of classes currently offered through the Families First Institute. These classes are free for community members. Visit the links below for additional information or to sign up. For full class descriptions, please see our Course Catalog.

The Families First Institute is an award winning, family-focused initiative aimed at strengthening our most economically vulnerable families, and offers several classes and workshops to our parents that focus on child development, parenting strategies, career and personal growth, and money management.

Equally important to early childhood education are the services we provide to families to enable them to make productive lifestyle choices so that they will be positive role models for their children. This includes helping parents identify and attain goals such as training and employment.

Our goal is to lead to a positive and enduring lifestyle change and to reduce the effects of poverty through education, information, guidance, and support for these parents.

Classes are also available in Spanish. Funding for the Families First Institute is provided by the Sarasota County Contracted Human Services and the Mark & Carol Hyman Fund.
